Electronic & Electrical products
If the products contain electronics or electrical parts and were bought after the 1st July 2007 and you purchase a new equivalent product, you may take you old product to the Retailer for them to dispose of, or ask them to collect it from your house and dispose of it.  The disposal should be free of charge but you may be charged a collection fee.

This is part of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations (WEEE)
