Try open tunings on guitar

If you play the guitar, you may be tempted to experiment with alternative tunings.
One popular option that has been used on many well-known rock songs over the years is the open-G tuning.
To achieve this, tune your bottom string down to D and tune the fifth string down to G.
The next three strings will remain unchanged, which means all you need to do then is tune your top string down to D.
If you do this, you will find the whole instrument plays the chord of G when it is strummed.
This tuning has been used by many prominent guitarists over the years, such as Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, on songs such as Start Me Up and Honky Tonk Women.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt of Status Quo have also used open tunings on many of their biggest hits, with Rossi combining this with a capo on the fourth fret to get the distinctive intro to number one hit Down Down.
