Study for music qualifications

When you're starting out in a career, qualifications can be a great asset, and it is no different if you're hoping for a career in music.

That's why lots of higher education facilities offer dedicated courses to people who want to come away with an accreditation and measure of their competence.

If you want to learn in your own time, then you may consider taking up options such as studying with the Open University.

You can sign up for both degree-level and postgraduate courses, which require varying degrees of prior musical knowledge.

And the UK also offers a number of institutions entirely devoted to music, such as the Royal College of Music in London.

So if you want to receive specialised musical education and develop your skills on instruments such as the guitar and piano, this is a good option to consider.

If you do sign up to the Royal College of Music, you'll be in illustrious company, as former students include Lord Lloyd Webber, Gustav Holst and Benjamin Britten.
