Roland Lucina AX-09 'ideal for youngsters'

A new synthesizer from Roland has been recommended as a great instrument for children.

The manufacturer is building on the success of its AX-Synth keytar by unveiling the Lucina AX-09 at this year's Musikmesse event.

According to MusicRadar, this is a more affordable version of its predecessor that would suit youngsters in particular.

The website noted that the AX-09 is not designed to be used by professional musicians, as it is aimed at those who consider music a hobby.

Despite this, it suggested that it could potentially be adopted by some who make music for a living.

"If the price is right, we reckon it could make its way onto quite a few stages," MusicRadar said.

According to Roland, the name Lucina has been taken from the Roman goddess of birth.

This, it stated, reflects the fact that it was designed to encourage a new generation of children to get interested in music and learn to play the synthesizer.
