Promote your gig offline

Musicians frequently use sites such as MySpace to promote their gigs and new releases, but traditional promotional methods are still useful even in the digital age.
Posters and fliers are just as effective as they have always been, provided you know where to put them.
Get in touch with local shops and businesses and ask if you can put some on their bulletin board in the run-up to your gig.
Plus make sure you send posters and fliers to the venue itself - regular gig-goers might just see them and decide to come out the night you are playing.
However, it's worth putting a lot of thought into the design of your promotional literature if you want it to grab people's attention.
Ensure the colour scheme highlights the information you most want to stand out.
Make the band name visible enough so it can be read from a distance, and maybe include a picture, such as a group photo or your logo.
The internet may be king these days, but certain promotional tools work well in any era.
