Musicians 'need to find space' for every instrument when recording

Artists looking to make music can benefit from having technical know-how, but they also have to ensure they allow every instrument to be heard in their recording.
This is the suggestion of Joe Gilder, writing in the Home Studio Corner blog.
He observed there are three main ways to make sure this happens and the first is the intelligent use of EQ.
"EQ is a tool that, when used properly, can remove unnecessary frequencies from your tracks, in order to make room for the other instruments," Mr Gilder remarked.
Another method that can be used is panning. He added musicians will be "amazed" how doing this can alter a sound.
Finally, looking closely at the fader volumes can make a difference to the overall sound quality of the song, Mr Gilder observed.
He added once the tracks are complete, it is important to make sure they are mixed properly.
