Musicians 'must learn to accept criticism'

Posted by Helen Whitten

After working with huge names such as Duran Duran and Amy Winehouse, some might say Mark Ronson - who is nominated for Best British Solo Artist in this year's Brit Awards - is in the perfect position to provide advice to those getting started in music.

The artist recently did just that at the BBC Introducing musician's masterclass, at London's Abbey Road studio, when he explained how constructive criticism is something people should come to expect, the BBC reports.

"Anything I can do to help someone on their journey to figuring out what they're doing in music is cool," he explained, after saying how important it is to be honest when it comes to laying down a track in the recording studio.

Max Cleworth, aged 19 from Brighton, who participated in the event said he was grateful to find out more about the business side of making music and it is likely he will implement some of the techniques with his band Pirate Radio Company. ADNFCR-2724-ID-800386779-ADNFCR
