MP launches scheme to raise awareness of musicians' rights

A Conservative MP is campaigning to raise awareness of the issue of music copyright.
Mike Weatherley, who represents the Hove and Portslade constituency, wants to make sure performers are protected when it comes to intellectual copyright.
He is supporting the Rock The House initiative, which is aimed at those acts that do not fully understand this legal area.
"There seems to be a growing public perception that creative work should be 'free', but I believe that protecting an artist's intellectual property is vital," Mr Weatherley said.
It comes after legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola recently said musicians may find they will not make a lot of money in the future.
Rock The House is also launching a competition to find talented new artists, while bands and singers are encouraged to enter themselves through their local MP.
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Music is among the supporters of the scheme.
