How to stay on the road during the summer

The whole country seems to be on holiday in summer, so performing musicians can find this a frustrating period.
Indeed, some of their fellow band members may be away for weeks at a time, so they have to turn down gigs and come off the road for a while.
However, there are ways in which groups can reduce the impact of the holiday season.
For instance, they can plan ahead and all agree to take holidays at the same time.
This means there will not be four or five successive weeks when at least one member of the band is unavailable.
Another way to keep performing when band members are on holiday is to do a stripped-down performance, such as an acoustic set.
This can be an opportunity to showcase different material and your skills as an all-round musician.
It could be a special and memorable experience for the artist and punters alike and a great way to keep performing, even if half your group is away.
