How to get results from your synth on stage

Synthesizers are highly versatile instruments, so players have lots of flexibility when it comes to determining their ideal stage set-up.

However, there is plenty you can do to ensure your instruments always deliver the goods during a concert.

Firstly, you may wish to use your own power source, such as batteries or a power conditioner. This could be a good option if you are hesitant about simply hoping the plug sockets can handle your rig during a concert.

Another option is to be discerning about how much equipment you actually need to bring with you.

Some performers like to take everything they have, as this can look quite impressive on stage. But this makes them more vulnerable to the nightmare scenario of having something really important stolen at a gig or damaged beyond repair.

Work out the bare minimum of what would be required to cover the necessary range of sounds and proceed from there when setting up your gear.

Finally, make sure you don't have your patches saved only on the synth itself, as you never know when you might need a back-up.
