Get lessons to learn to play drums properly, advises Pink Floyd legend

Anyone who aspires to play the drums well should invest in lessons, according to Nick Mason.
The Pink Floyd sticksman told Rhythm magazine that not being taught how to play his drumkit properly is one of his biggest regrets.
Although fans may be surprised that the man behind hugely successful albums such as Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall worries about his technique, he insisted that he would have been a better drummer if he had been taught the right way to play.
"I think it's too late, it would be so difficult to reveal to anyone just how poor my technique is. There is absolutely no doubt that my recommendation to anyone is to get lessons," Mason remarked.
Earlier this month, the drummer with The Police Stewart Copeland said it is important for people to relax their hands while playing the instrument.
He added that it is important to always enjoy playing the drums - he admitted to feeling "miserable" during the most successful years of Sting's band in the 1980s.
