Drummers 'should keep it simple'

Posted by Martyn Hopkins
People who are starting to learn the drums have been advised to keep things as simple as possible when they are playing.
Musician Julian Ranieri, who has played the instrument for around seven years, explained to the Ezine website that the key to performing well on the drums is getting the speed and timing right.
"Forget the fancy stuff, keep it simple and keep it powerful. When it comes to recording nothing matters more," he stated.
Ranieri added that people who are starting out on the drum kit should attempt to become proficient in a variety of musical styles as this will help to improve their overall skill levels.
He said setting up equipment in different ways so they can learn new styles of performance could be a good idea for drummers who are beginning to develop their abilities.
According to the advice of Rhythm Magazine, drummers in a band should book a performance room on their own so they can practice solo.
