Dream Theater to announce new pro drummer

A pro drummer is set to be added to the line-up of rock band Dream Theater.

According to Blabbermouth.net, guitarist John Petrucci has told fans: "I know that the big question is 'Who is the new Dream Theater drummer?'"

Fans of the band will be keen to see who takes up the sticks after Mike Potnoy left to join another group after being a member since 1985.

They will be expecting a drum professional who can keep up with their well-known progressive rock style and Petrucci said: "Auditions went great and we do have someone."

The group are due to headline the High Voltage Festival, which will be taking part in Victoria Park, London, on July 23rd and 24th 2011.

And whoever does join the act will be expected to be up to speed by the time this gig comes around.

Dream Theater are known for playing extended solos during songs and making largely instrumental music.
