Create the perfect home recording studio

Once a musician has bought a home recording studio, they will want to create a good environment in which to use it.
But a typical flat or house won't have been designed with music making in mind, so if you want to get your recording space right, a bit of creativity might be needed.
Consider qualities such as the flooring - hardwood floors could cause the sound you produce to bounce around in a small room. As a result, erroneous sounds could get picked up by mics.
Carpet will absorb the mass of soundwaves and boost your chances of achieving an evenly balanced recording.
Try to record in a room with fairly neutral acoustics, as you don't want to be picking up too many sounds of the room itself. Otherwise, your vocals and acoustic guitar could sound a little distant or airy.
Neutral acoustics will also help to produce a sound that doesn't fundamentally change what your music is like.
After all, if you don't want lots of echo and reverb, recording in a room with tiled floors or walls won't be a good idea.
Get your recording space right and you'll be well on the way to producing some winning tracks at home.
