Aspiring stars 'need lots of confidence'
Category: Getting started
Would-be stars who want to make it in the music industry have been advised to ensure they have lots of confidence.
According to Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan, aspiring musicians need to have plenty of belief in their abilities if they wish to enjoy a successful career in music.
He has therefore urged future stars to stay focussed on achieving their goals.
"Don't give up on your dreams," he commented.
However, Raekwon also told I Like Music that becoming a star depends partly on the amount of work people are willing to put into their music.
"If this is something you want to do, then you have to work hard," he said.
Raekwon added that he believes he has developed musically by embracing a variety of genres and listening to more than the type of music he is best known for producing.
"I don't listen to rap music all day - that makes me a stronger artist," he stated.
The rapper has been active in the music industry since 1993 and has worked with big names such as Busta Rhymes, Dr Dre, Nas and OutKast.
