One of the world’s best drummers comes to Europe – and he’s on a mission
Winter. It’s the time of the year that heading out of the door is least fun. But that’s good for us drummers – the winter months are the perfect excuse to stay in; get your chops in order, nail those grooves, find your inner swing and emerge ready to take the spring/summer gig circuit by storm.
But you’ll need inspiration to guide you through your wintry voyage of rhythm – or you’ll risk practising the same old stuff which can be monotonous, uninspiring and ultimately boring.
If only, somehow, you could actually watch one of the world’s best drummers in action and ask them in person to explain those tricky patterns, give tips for coordination, help with timing woes, or just show you something new.
That’s exactly why Thomas Lang is on tour with Roland – we’re on a mission to help and inspire you
Thomas Lang is one of the most incredible drummers of modern times. His signature powerhouse style, superb stick definition, super-speed and mind-blowing coordination skills mean that Thomas Lang can rightly boast to be one of the top 25 most searched for drummers of 2015.
Thomas’ own practice regime formed the basis of his 1995 instructional film Ultimatives Schlagzeug I & I (still available on DVD today). Known for its clear and precise practice routine, it’s been a go-to resource for helping drummers escape practice hell for 20 years. A host of best-selling educational books and films for drummers has followed (including Creative Control and Creative Coordination & Advanced Foot Technique) while Thomas’ professional drumming skills are in demand for major recordings and stage more than ever.
So there is no-one better to inspire you to keep at it and shake up your playing and practice routines this winter. Naturally, Thomas will be flexing his drumming might while playing his signature V-Drums set-up (and at some dates, a hybrid drum kit using Roland electronics with DW drums and Meinl Cymbals).

You can learn as much from one evening in the company of other drummers than you can in a week of searching the web. You’ll be inspired and super-motivated to try something new on your kit after an evening with Thomas Lang. See you there.
