Take That keys player on the Roland Jupiter-80

We recently caught up with Bernie Smith, keyboard player for Take That on their highly successful Progress Tour, where he used the Roland JUPITER-80 extensively.

Bernie talks us through his favourite features of the Roland JUPITER-80 synth and shares with us how he uses it in a live scenario, from replicating complicated string arrangements to layering beautiful multi-textured sounds. It’s not hard to see why it has become a key part of his live rig.

The JUPITER-80 joins one of the most revered prefixes in the history of synthesizers. A live-performance synthesizer that pays homage to its legendary namesake with road-proven hardware and massive sound, yet blasts into the future with advanced SuperNATURAL technology. The JUPITER-80’s expressive, organic approach to synthesis makes a new world of sound design possible with multi-layered SuperNATURAL textures under the control of a full-colour touchscreen and creative hands-on controllers. Experience the metamorphosis of a legend!
