Our old friend, New York singer-songwriter Julian Velard, has recorded a session for Biz Live on the Sun’s website featuring a pared-down cover version of Katy Perry’s hit, Teenage Dream.
The unexpected choice shows off Velard’s taste for the surreal as well as his skills as a pianist. This was also reflected in his stage setup, which comprised a standing lamp, an illuminated globe and the Roland V-Piano. Velard is huge fan of the V-Piano, and has previously used it on tour with Amy MacDonald and for recording his new album, Mr Saturday Night. The Roland V-Piano is the first choice for countless professionals because it uses advanced sound-modelling technology to make the most authentic piano sound of any digital piano.
Velard’s session was recorded to showcase his new album, Mr Saturday Night, which is out on Monday 4 April. In his quirky bowtie and tweed combo, the eccentric New Yorker – and former bin man – looks every bit the bona fide popstar.
